Make a Healthy Online Business by putting yourself First!

If you’re a WAHM, then you know what it means to put everyone else first.  We all do it!  Your clients, your children, your housework and even hubby’s errands, but what about you?  In order to make all of those things work successfully we need to think about ourselves too.  You might think I mean a coffee break from time to time, but really I want to focus on body and mind.

  • Exercise:  Schedule out 30-60 minutes a day to get your workout in, just like a doctor appointment.  It doesn’t need to be rigorous, just enough to get your blood pumping.  I love yoga; it heals my body and mind and is a great way to start the day.  Or try a quick 1 min. plank or some squats at your desk after 30 min slots of productivity.
  • Snacking:  No matter how hard you try to resist, you just can’t.  Prep some healthy snacks or lunch ahead of time so you have a Go To instead of searching for your next fix. Select in season organic fruits and veggies, crackers, nuts etc.
  • Fresh Air:  It may not always feel like an option with your busy schedule, but some fresh air in the lungs and sun on your face is always refreshing.  Even if it’s to watch the kids kick a ball around, enjoy a glass of lemonade and take a few moments away from the computer screen.  We all need a break!
  • Kick Start:  Getting up early doesn’t sound great to most, but it can really help you have some quiet time and plan your day before the crazy starts. Or, if you don’t manage getting out of bed early, try planning your day the night before or use an online project management system to keep you in check.

Do you feel more balanced now?

All of these tips are to help the WAHM increase productivity, help feel balanced and hopefully a little more healthy and grounded.   If you find your online business needs a little more stress relief, try hiring a Virtual Assistant for as little as 30-45 minutes each day.

How to Organize Your Online Business

How to Organize Your Online Business

Are you ready for some much needed organization in your online business?

Believe it or not, organization is one of the most important elements for success when it comes to making money online.  Success is the ultimate goal, right?

A common problem in many small business organizations is a lack of important organizational components.  The days of folders and filing are in the past.  If you’re not sure where to get started, we have only one suggestion for you – an online Project Management system.

Here’s why they are so great and helpful for an online business like yours.

  1. Creates a go-to place for all project communication, so it stays in one place.   Important info doesn’t get lost in emails, text, etc.
  2. An easy way to delegate to anyone on your team, whether it’s your web designer, virtual assistant or business partner.
  3. Keeps that important business stuff separate from personal stuff.  This can include your ever-valuable time.
  4. Many online organizational products are free and easy to sync, even to your smart phone or tablet.  Using Google products is a great example.
  5. If you like checklists, some systems like Asana allow you to create tons of subtasks for your big projects.  These can be delegated to multiple team members.
  6. As a Virtual Assistant, it helps you (the client) easily track task progress (if set up correctly), without unnecessary check-ins to see where the project status is.

Asana is my go-to project management system.  It allows up to 29 people on a free account and has all the important pieces I need to stay organized with my team and clients.  Plus, it syncs with Dropbox, which is convenient for my team.

Are you ready to get started?

Not sure where to start or have the time to devote to this important task?  Hire a Virtual Assistant to help get your business and projects organized.  Take a look at our hourly rate packages to get started, plus a free 30-minute consultation!  You won’t be disappointed!

When to Hire a Virtual Assistant for Your Off or Online Business

When to Hire a virtual assistantThere really isn’t a right answer as to when it is “most” beneficial for an off or online business to hire a Virtual Assistant because each business and it’s projects are different.

However, as business owners you likely understand the importance of planning ahead, setting up short and long-term goals, while fitting pieces into place along the way of launching new ideas and products to bring in quantitive results. Right?

This means for you as a business owner, whether you’re a physical location based store front with a website or purely online with all your products and services, a virtual assistant can be a key factor which allows you to focus on only the tasks you can accomplish in your business.

Let’s look at an example:

If my client is writing a book, but they have social media to post, emails to contend with, research demands to find the best publisher or details about how to publish successfully, marketing tactics for product launch to strategize and a continual list of to dos- they will never get to sit down and write  a book that has all their time and attention to focus on developing amazing content for their audience.

So, planning ahead with a virtual assistant can mean they draft and format blogs, schedule social media about an awesome new product launch and existing content you have created, researching specific details, managing email inquiries and all those little things that take up time, which don’t require the author to set in motion.

I promise you absolutely don’t want to wait until you’re starting to feel a little overwhelmed! You need to get a plan in action with someone who will support your off or online business before you let projects linger around your desk or in your project management system. If this happens you will only add unnecessary stress in your life and potentially hurt your business. Not preparing or getting your project well-organized or complete can lead to a poor business reputation. It shows a lack of control over your business and may frighten others away from trusting your brand.

I want you to think about your next big project. It can be a product launch, setting up a website, or traveling to speak at different summits and conferences. Now think about what specific tasks don’t require you- projects that happen repeatedly or have a system like blogging, social media, website edits, email management. Now imagine if you could have someone help you complete those tasks to allow you to focus on your →BIG PROJECT← the one only you can work on, and imagine how all stress and overwhelm will be eliminated after a couple weeks of training the right person.

It’s your turn: Have you waited until it was too late when your growing business took a plunge from your unreadiness? Share your experience on how you salvaged your business with an online service provider like a VA or OBM!
